COME WHAT MAY Premiere

The first public theatrical screening for COME WHAT MAY begins Saturday, July 12 in Harrisonburg, VA at the Court Square Theater.

There will be two screenings that day, mid-afternoon and early evening. Tickets are now available on the Advent Film Group website (click here) and advanced sales will be also be available online at Court Square Theater’s web site near the middle of June.

Attending this event will be the co-producers and directors of the movie, George D. Escobar and Manny Edwards, They will be joined by a few cast and crew members. Local Harrisonburg community leaders, residents, and students, some of whom appeared or worked in the movie, will also be attending. The press, local charities, pastors, corporate and local government officials will also be invited.

Other STATE THEATRICAL PREMIERES will launch throughout the summer. These include:

• Northern and Southern California, beginning July 14 through July 18
• Grants Pass, Oregon, beginning July 19
• Dallas, Texas (TBD)
• Colorado Springs, CO (TBD)
• Martinsburg, WV (TBD)
• Washington, DC (TBD) - WORLD PREMIERE

More cities and dates will be announced soon. DVDs will be available for sales during these screenings.

COME WHAT MAY "Preview Edition"

A limited number of PREVIEW EDITION DVDs will go on sale at two venues in June:

1. The 2008 Home Educators Association of Virginia Convention, beginning June 5 through June 7, at Richmond, Virginia. (www.heav.org)

1. The 2008 NCFCA Speech and Debate National Championship, beginning June 9 through June 13, at Birmingham, Alabama (www.NCFCA.org)

These PREVIEW DVDS also known as “Screeners” are typically only available to distributors, investors, supporters, and the media. They are used for movie reviews, to plan and refine marketing and distribution strategies, gain community or organizational support, and to raise funds for future productions or editions.

Advent Film Group will first make these exclusive PREVIEW DVDs available only at these two locations. If there are any left, they will go on sale at the Advent Film Group web site, starting June 19.

The co-producer and director of the movie, George Escobar, will be SIGNING copies of the DVD at both venues.

What’s distinctive about the PREVIEW EDITION?

It contains the full 98 minute movie, trailer, and short clip about AFG’s mission. More importantly, however, it contains a still “work-in-progress” version of the film. The final sound edit mix and color grading, final screen credits, and music score are in place. However, they are bound to change as feedback comes back from the marketplace. Your feedback. You can still influence the nuances of the film. The cut in the PREVIEW EDITION will likely differ from the RELEASE EDITION. You can own a slice of cinema history. And you will also have a collectible DVD because the final DVD case and disc artwork will also be one-of-a-kind.

AFG Teams Span Four States to Complete Sound, Music, and Visual Effects

We are in the final stages of completing the movie, COME WHAT MAY.

THE COLORADO SPRINGS TEAM:
Five interns (Brooke, Petra, Luke, Nate E. and Nate S.) have recently arrived at the Night Sky Music & Sound Design studio of John Doryk to begin a month-long process of sound design, mixing, sweetening, foley, and ADR. For the interns, this will be their first opportunity to see how a movie’s soundtrack comes together. They are the pioneering sound team for Advent Film Group and will set the standard for future interns. We know they are going to do a great job under John’s mentorship.

John Doryk is a top-notch composer/sound designer/owner of Night Sky. He has been creating custom original music and sound design for movies, episodic television, documentaries, and radio drama for over 23 years. His musical background spans from classical/operatic to traditional filmscore to folk/acoustic to electronica and rock.

THE OREGON TEAM:
Manny Edwards, co-producer/director of COME WHAT MAY has also arrived recently in Grants Pass, Oregon to begin ADR work with Austin Kearney and Victoria Emmons, the lead actors for CWM. They will be re-recording some dialogue from the movie to improve sound quality and/or performance. They will also record new lines for narration that will be added during the final sound mix.

IN WASHINGTON STATE:
David Gilchrist has already been hard at work on the original music score for CWM over the past several months. Throughout April he will be adding music cues, underscoring, and completing final music compositions based on the final cut of the movie recently delivered to his home studio.

THE VIRGINIA TEAM:
George Escobar, co-producer/director of COME WHAT MAY will be working on the color timing, grading, and visual effects to improve the overall look of the movies with Stephen Pappas (Director of Broadcast Media at Cornerstone Chapel) and Randy Querry (Film Editor for Discovery Channel).

George, Manny, David, and John will all meet together in Colorado Springs at John Doryk’s studio in early May for the final sound mixing sessions.
