Michael Snyder - Principal of Advent Film Group

Michael A. Snyder is the former Senior Vice President of Prison Fellowship and head of its Christian worldview teaching and advocacy Division encompassing BreakPoint, the Centurions Program and the Wilberforce Forum. Last summer, he joined AFG as a principal in charge of business, marketing, and distribution.

Mike's deep experience in building and growing ministry-oriented enterprises is a tremendous blessing for AFG. As a former partner in several major law firms, Mike brings marketing, financial, and deal structuring savvy to shape attractive investment opportunities in AFG’s films. He is passionate about raising up younger generations to lead the way in shaping culture for Christ, and seeks to facilitate these mentoring relationships. Mike resides in northern Virginia with his wife Maggie.

George Escobar - Founder of Advent Film Group

George Escobar founded Advent Film Group (AFG) in 2007, to create Christian films and train Christian filmmakers. He produced and directed Advent’s first film, Come What May (released in 2009), made with a team of 40 homeschooled students and a handful of industry professionals. A regular film workshop and keynote speaker at homeschool state and national conventions, George is also a producer for Hero, AFG’s second film, currently in post-production.

He has more than 20 years of experience in film, television, and interactive media. Before founding AFG, George was Vice President of Product Development for Discovery, Executive Director for AOL/Time Warner, and is a former Producing Fellow from the American Film Institute's Center for Advanced Film and Television Studies. He holds seven U.S. patents in technology and user-interface design. In his career, George has worked for top executives in the industry including Howard Stringer (Sony CEO), Sandy Grushow and David Grant (Fox), Kit Laybourne (TELE-TV), and Kim Friedman (TV director). George and his wife Claire homeschool their three sons in northern Virginia.
